A house? A condo? A homeless shelter?  No, no, no.  You should most likely live really far the fuck away from whatever city you're living in right now.  Let me guess... you're saving money in San Francisco because of the great vintage shopping or you're saving money in Chicago by using saran wrap to insulate your house in the winter.  Stop that.  You're moving to Houston, renting a $400/month apartment, and if you don't have a spouse or a partner you're getting a roommate. You'll either need a professional job that can be done remotely or any job that you can pick up in a new place.

Oh, you hate hot weather? Ok, St. Louis or Detroit will work well too.
